Mud cake, a concert & bears!

On Saturday we celebrated Bailee's 3rd birthday and Mia's 2nd birthday by inviting all of our friends to join us at the Maine Wildlife Park in Gray, Maine. We had an amazing time and the kids had a blast! Rick Charette was performing that day and so we had the added bonus of seeing him in concert! If you've never heard of him or heard his music you should check him out! He's a GREAT kids song writer and performer that I've listened to since I was little! He has some great songs that my kids LOVE!

Here the girls are waiting for the concert to begin with Tom. Bailee was so excited that she had a hard time sitting still!

Here is Rick Charette performing his famous "Alligator in the Elevator" song! The kids loved the characters dressed up, but Mia was not so happy about it! She got very nervous when she saw him! :)

For a few different songs Rick invited the kids onto the stage to join him and Bailee jumped at the chance to "be on the big girl stage!" She ran right up there and was dancing with everyone! I think she might be in the entertainment business some day!

After the concert we had a little birthday picnic with all of their friends that came! I made dirt cake "mud mud we love mud cake" (another famous song of Rick Charette's) and we sang Happy Birthday to the girls. Here they are holding their own little cups of mud cake after they blew out their candles!

We tried to get a group shot of all the kids together but this was the result...

I don't think you could ever get that many kids to smile at the same time! ;-)

For party favors all of the kids were able to take home a box of animal crackers (since we were visiting the animal farm), a recorder (since we heard music at the concert), and their cup of mud cake! This is what the favors looked like...

The whole day was a huge success and the weather was perfect! Bailee and Mia are still talking about seeing the deer, lions and bears, but their favorite part was definitely the music!  :0)
